Deaconess Shaina Mitchell is the Director of Campus Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church and the Ball State Religious Adviser for LCMS U. Alongside BSU students, Dcs. Mitchell organizes and facilitates all LCMS U activities. Be sure to contact her if you'd like more info about LCMS U!
Deaconess Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies for Elementary Education at Concordia University Irvine, California in 2001 and in 2008 she graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts and Deaconess Certification. During her Deaconess Internship year, Deaconess Mitchell served the congregation and campus ministry of University Lutheran Chapel at the University of Minnesota. As a Lutheran deaconess, it is her joy to foster diaconal acts of mercy and continuing catechesis at Grace Lutheran Church and on campus at Ball State University. Deaconess is usually in the office at Grace Lutheran Church Mon-Thur but is pretty much always available for a cup of coffee or a beer. Pastor Daniel Mackey earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 2000. He then graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne with a Master of Divinity and was ordained in 2004. During his vicarage year, Pastor Mackey served the campus ministry program at the University of Oklahoma through Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman. As a pastor, it is his joy to preach, teach and administer the Sacraments. From June 2004 to April 2011, he served Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, Mo. As of May 2011, he became the Pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Muncie. He is married to Brenda, and they have two cats, Tika and Girelle.
